Terms of Service & Usage Rules

By downloading, installing, accessing, or utilizing BeHisabi ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must refrain from installing or using the Application.

These terms apply to all users across all Android devices where BeHisabi is installed or operated.

BeHisabi is a self-directed personal accounting, budgeting, and bookkeeping utility tool. It helps you monitor personal income, expenses, loan registries, and spending statistics.

AI Smart Receipt Scanning: The app includes an optional optical scanning utility powered by the Google Gemini API to extract transaction information (merchant, items, totals, date). By using this feature, you agree not to submit sensitive banking credentials, credit card numbers, PINs, or confidential documents. AI processing is provided under Google Gemini API Terms and Google Privacy Policy.

Because BeHisabi prioritizes user privacy by storing information locally on your device in a sandboxed SQLite database:

• You are responsible for exporting regular data backups (e.g., CSV/JSON export) or utilizing Google Account sync for cloud redundancy.
• We are not liable for accidental data loss arising from device factory resets, manual cache clearing, device loss, or OS upgrades when cloud backup is not active.
• You are responsible for securing your physical device using screen lock or the in-app biometric lock.
• Cloud Purge Rights: You may trigger or request deletion of cloud Firestore backup records at any time via the Data Deletion Portal. Active records are purged within 24-48 hours following verified account ownership confirmation.

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age required in your country to give digital consent, such as 16 in certain EU member states) to download and use BeHisabi. If you are under the required age, you may only use BeHisabi under the active supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

The code, user interface designs, branding, logos, and custom assets in BeHisabi are the proprietary property of Takbir A. Himu. You may not reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or duplicate the application package without explicit written authorization.

All third-party open-source libraries integrated into the project remain governed by their respective Apache License 2.0 or MIT open-source licenses as documented in our Open Source Licenses Portal.

"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer: BeHisabi is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties or representations of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we expressly disclaim all implied warranties, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, data accuracy, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the application will operate uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely free from minor software defects.

Applicable Law: BeHisabi is distributed globally. These Terms of Service and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with generally recognized international principles of law and the developer's principal place of operation, without giving effect to any conflict of law rules.

Informal Dispute Resolution: Prior to initiating any formal legal or administrative action, you agree to contact us at hello@takbirhimu.me to attempt in good faith to resolve any disagreement, claim, or dispute amicably and informally.

Statutory Consumer Protection Rights: If you are an individual consumer residing in the European Union (EU/EEA), United Kingdom (UK), United States, or any other global jurisdiction, nothing in these Terms deprives you of the statutory rights and protections afforded to you by mandatory local consumer protection laws of your country of habitual residence. You retain the right to bring proceedings before competent local courts having jurisdiction under mandatory national laws.
